Baku hosts event marking 30th anniversary of Azerbaijan-Czech Republic diplomatic ties PHOTO
An exhibition devoted to the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic was held at the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry on January 26.
The event was attended by the ministry’s senior staff, the ambassador and employees of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Baku, MPs, rectors of the Baku State University and Azerbaijan Slavic University, and other guests, Caliber.Az informs, citing the Foreign Ministry.
Delivering a speech at the event, Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev said that Azerbaijan-Czech Republic’s fruitful cooperation based on mutual respect and trust has been successfully developing for 30 years.
He added that high-level political dialogue, exchange of official visits, and inter-parliamentary ties have played an important role in this process.
Noting the bilateral relations’ rising to a level of strategic partnership, Rzayev spoke about economic cooperation between the two countries, as well as an intensive exchange of experience in the areas of culture, science, education, and tourism.
Czech Ambassador to Azerbaijan Milan Sedlacek has expressed his satisfaction with the current level of bilateral relations between Baku and Prague.
Recalling an upcoming meeting of the Azerbaijani-Czech inter-governmental next month in Prague, Sedlacek stated that the meeting will serve not only for strengthening economic relations but also for further development of cooperation in the culture and tourism.
During the event, the Czech side invited the Azerbaijani parliament’s speaker and foreign minister to visit the Czech Republic.
The ambassador also assured that he would make every effort to further develop friendly relations between the Azerbaijani and Czech peoples.
