Baku hosts founding meeting of Turkic Forensic Science Network
The founding meeting of the Turkic Forensic Science Network was held on April 3, 2026, in Baku, bringing together senior representatives of forensic science institutions from member states of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS).
During the meeting, participants signed a Memorandum of Understanding establishing the new network, marking what officials described as a milestone in deepening multilateral cooperation across the bloc, Caliber.Az reports, citing OTS.
The initiative is designed to enhance coordination among forensic institutions, including the exchange of expertise, scientific research, training programmes and technical assistance.
Delegates presented overviews of their institutions’ organisational structures, operational capabilities and ongoing projects, outlining current practices and areas for potential collaboration. The discussions focused on improving the effectiveness and sustainability of joint efforts in forensic science.
Officials said the network is expected to strengthen institutional ties and support capacity-building across member states of Azerbaijan and its partners within the Turkic world, particularly in areas involving advanced forensic methodologies and shared professional standards.
