Baku hosts memorial event marking 40th day since death of Iran’s supreme leader Photo

A memorial event was held in Baku on April 10 marking the 40th day since the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

Th ceremony brought together Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev, government and public representatives, as well as religious figures, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

The Chairman of the Caucasus Muslim Board, Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, shared his recollections of Seyyed Ali Khamenei, highlighting his spiritual legacy and his influence within the Islamic world.

Iran’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Mojtaba Demirchilu, also addressed the gathering, speaking about Khamenei’s religious and political life and his contributions to the wider Islamic world. He underscored Azerbaijan’s solidarity and humanitarian support for Iran from the earliest stages of the tensions, expressing gratitude to Baku for its position.

A similar commemorative ceremony was also held in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on the same day.
