Baku hosts parliamentary delegations from nearly 20 countries 30th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s Constitution
An international parliamentary conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of Azerbaijan has started at Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis (Parliament).
The event is themed “The Constitution as the Basis of Independence and Sovereignty of States in the Modern World,” Caliber.Az reports per local media.
During the conference, participants will discuss the role of constitutions in strengthening the legal foundations of modern states and exchange views on preserving national sovereignty and independence.
Parliamentary delegations from around 20 countries, as well as representatives from five international organisations, are taking part in the event.
The Constitution of Azerbaijan was adopted on November 12, 1995, following a national referendum. It established the framework for a democratic, independent, and sovereign republic after Azerbaijan regained independence from the Soviet Union in 1991.
