Baku, Naples deepen ties as Italian ambassador meets Baku’s executive head

The Italian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Luca Di Gianfrancesco, met with Baku’s Executive Head, Eldar Azizov, to discuss closer ties between the Azerbaijani capital and Italian regions, focusing on sustainable development and resource management.

According to a statement from the Italian Embassy in Azerbaijan, the meeting was held in a constructive atmosphere, Caliber.Az reports.

Discussions centred on strengthening sister-city ties between Baku and Naples, especially in light of the upcoming celebrations marking the 2,500th anniversary of the Italian city.

The talks also explored opportunities for collaboration with Italian regions and companies, with a focus on sustainable practices and efficient resource use.

Both sides underscored the importance of enhancing bilateral relations at the municipal level as part of broader Azerbaijani-Italian cooperation.
