Baku, Riga discuss regional security issues
Azerbaijani and Latvian Foreign Ministers Jeyhun Bayramov and Baiba Braže held a telephone conversation on February 3.
During the telephone conversation, the sides discussed bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Latvia, as well as regional and international security issues, the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan told Caliber.Az.
The sides noted the importance of mutual visits and contacts in the development of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two countries in various directions, including within regional and international organisations.
During the phone talks, the sides shared views on other issues of mutual interest.
It is pertinent to observe that Azerbaijan and Latvia have cultivated a robust partnership since establishing diplomatic relations on January 11, 1994. Over the past three decades, their collaboration has spanned political, economic, and cultural domains.
In 2017, Azerbaijan and Latvia elevated their relationship by signing a Declaration on Strategic Partnership, underscoring their commitment to deepening bilateral ties.
The nations have maintained a dynamic political dialogue, marked by reciprocal visits and meetings between their leaders. These interactions have reinforced mutual understanding and cooperation across various sectors.
