Baku, Rome discuss expanded cooperation in Middle Corridor development
A meeting took place between Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikail Jabbarov and Luca Di Gianfrancesco, the newly appointed Italian Ambassador to Baku.
During their discussion, both parties expressed deep satisfaction with the dynamic growth of bilateral relations across various sectors, prominently highlighting advancements in trade and economic cooperation, Azerbaijani Economy Ministry told Caliber.Az.
Originating from strong ties in the energy sector, these relations have expanded to encompass diverse fields such as information technology, transportation, agriculture, and green energy.
Minister Jabbarov and Ambassador Di Gianfrancesco underscored the strategic importance of supporting joint initiatives aimed at further strengthening and deepening cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy.
They particularly focused on exploring collaborative opportunities in ongoing and prospective reconstruction and construction projects in Karabakh and East Zangezur.
The meeting also delved into discussions regarding the development prospects of the Middle Corridor, a critical initiative aimed at enhancing regional connectivity and trade routes.
Both sides expressed keen interest in exploring and fostering cooperative ventures within this strategic framework, aiming to leverage its potential for mutual economic benefit and regional integration.
The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) or Middle Corridor is a multimodal transportation corridor that facilitates trade and transit between Europe and Asia, particularly linking countries from the Caspian Sea region to Europe via the Caucasus.
