Baku hosts Azerbaijan–UAE talks on expanding strategic partnership PHOTO
On April 28, the second meeting of the joint committee on cooperation within the framework of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates was held in Baku.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs told Caliber.Az that the meeting was co-chaired by Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev and UAE Minister of State Saeed Bin Mubarak Rashid Al-Hajeri.
As part of the committee’s work, the co-chairs held a one-on-one meeting. This was followed by a review of the work carried out since the first committee meeting in November last year in Abu Dhabi, an assessment of the achieved results, and the identification of priorities, specific initiatives, and projects for the upcoming period.
Rafiyev and Al-Hajeri positively assessed the implementation of the roadmap and work plans agreed upon during the first meeting, emphasising the importance of further deepening results-oriented cooperation. An agreement was reached to put forward new initiatives for the upcoming period, further improve existing mechanisms, and strengthen the institutional foundations of cooperation.
In addition to representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting was attended by representatives of the ministries of economy, energy, justice, defence, internal affairs, digital development and transport, science and education, culture, agriculture, the State Tourism Agency, the Food Safety Agency, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan Investment Holding, and AZCON Holding.
