Baku Security Forum declaration officially registered as UN Security Council document
The declaration adopted at the 3rd Baku Security Forum on September 21, together with President Ilham Aliyev’s address to participants, has been officially registered and circulated as documents of the UN General Assembly and Security Council.
This development highlights the growing international significance of the Baku Security Forum and its institutional and legal standing, Caliber.Az reports.
This year’s forum, held under the theme “Joint activities of security agencies in preventing humanitarian crises and global man-made disasters during terrorist acts and armed conflicts,” brought together heads and senior representatives of around 90 foreign intelligence and security agencies.
Organised with the support of Azerbaijan’s State Security Service, the plenary session saw the adoption of the forum’s statute, its declaration, and a decision to create the world’s first 24/7 Anti-Terror Information Exchange System among security and intelligence agencies.
In his address, President Aliyev emphasised the forum’s role in identifying global and regional threats, assessing emerging risks, and exploring ways to neutralise them.
The declaration underlines the importance of close coordination among security services to combat transnational organised crime, international terrorism, and other threats to global security.
It calls for expanding cooperation, exchanging experience and information actively and continuously, and taking joint, decisive measures to ensure international safety.
The UN registration followed a formal request by Azerbaijan’s Permanent Representative, and the documents were officially disseminated as part of UN records.
