Baku, Stockholm review cooperation as ambassador Lorentzson ends diplomatic tenure PHOTO
Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has held a farewell meeting with Sweden’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Tobias Lorentzson, marking the completion of the diplomat’s mission in the country.
According to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, the discussions focused on the current state and prospects of bilateral relations, including political dialogue, as well as cooperation in trade and economic ties, education, and humanitarian affairs.
Both sides emphasised the importance of sustaining momentum in bilateral engagement, underlining the value of continued high-level visits and regular contacts between Baku and Stockholm.
Bayramov expressed satisfaction with the development of Azerbaijani–Swedish relations during Lorentzson’s tenure, thanking him for his contribution to strengthening cooperation. He also wished the ambassador success in his future assignments.
The meeting further included an exchange of views on regional developments, the Azerbaijan–Armenia normalisation process, and ongoing reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts in the post-conflict period.
For his part, Lorentzson conveyed appreciation for the support extended to him throughout his diplomatic service in Azerbaijan.
