Baku to host 2nd forum of religious leaders promoting secularism, tolerance
Baku will host the 2nd Forum of Religious Leaders of Azerbaijan on December 24, as part of the country’s Year of Constitution and Sovereignty.
The forum, titled “Constitutional Principles of State-Religion Relations in Azerbaijan: Secularism and Freedom of Conscience,” aims to foster discussion on promoting fundamental constitutional values, including secularism and freedom of conscience, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Key topics will include the rights and responsibilities of religious leaders, legal and cultural dimensions of state-religion relations, the professional development of clergy, and the further reinforcement of a multicultural and tolerant environment.
The event will gather representatives from relevant state bodies, religious leaders, educators from religious institutions, theologians, and specialists. In addition, heads of authorized state religious institutions from Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan are expected to participate, highlighting the forum’s regional significance.
