Baku to host international conference on humanitarian demining
An international conference focused on humanitarian demining and post-conflict reconstruction will take place in Baku on September 2–3, bringing together government officials, international organizations, and technical experts.
The fourth edition of the event, titled “Humanitarian Demining for Urban Recovery: Setting Standards of Excellence for Safe Settlements,” is being organised by the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) and the United Nations Office in Baku, Caliber.Az reports.
According to ANAMA, participants will include representatives from multiple countries and institutions, who are expected to exchange expertise and explore ways to strengthen international cooperation in demining efforts.
Discussions will focus on the role of humanitarian demining in urban reconstruction, particularly in enabling the safe return of displaced populations and the development of secure, livable communities in post-conflict areas.
