Historic declaration signed to advance workers’ rights across Turkic states UPDATED / PHOTO
A declaration from the first meeting of labour, employment and social protection ministers of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) has been signed, committing states to closer cooperation across key labour and social policy areas.
The document provides for the implementation of measures to strengthen cooperation between member and observer states of the organisation in areas such as labour legislation, protection of labour rights, occupational health and safety, gender equality, and other fields, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
It also envisages the creation of a Working Group on labour, employment and social protection issues among the relevant ministries.

The first meeting of labour, employment, and social protection ministers of the Turkic States Organisation (OTS) is taking place in Baku and will conclude with the signing of the declaration.
The event gathers labour and social protection officials from OTS member states and other partner countries, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Participants include Azerbaijan's Minister of Labour and Social Protection Anar Aliyev, OTS Secretary-General Kubanychbek Omuraliyev, Türkiye's Minister of Labour and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan, First Deputy Minister of Labour, Social Security and Migration of Kyrgyzstan Kamchybek Dosmatov, Uzbekistan's Deputy Minister of Employment and Poverty Reduction Sirojiddin Bobokulov, Kazakhstan's Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection Viktoriya Shegay, Northern Cyprus' Minister of Labour and Social Security Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu, Hungary's State Secretary for Employment Policy Sándor Czomba, and Turkmenistan's Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection Halbibi Tachjanova.
