Beijing ready to expand AI, cybersecurity cooperation with Baku
The Head of China’s Cyberspace Administration, Zhuang Rongwen, has said that Beijing is ready to deepen cooperation with Azerbaijan across key areas including the internet, cybersecurity, digital economy and artificial intelligence.
The statement came during a meeting with the Speaker of the Milli Majlis (Parliament), Sahiba Gafarova, who hosted a visiting Chinese delegation in Baku.
According to the press service of the Milli Majlis, Gafarova outlined Azerbaijan’s ongoing digital transformation efforts, noting that in recent years the country has been steadily implementing a policy to build a new digital architecture of the state under the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev.
She emphasised that in the modern era, cybersecurity is an essential component of national security and must remain a constant priority.
Zhuang Rongwen, in turn, highlighted China’s strong interest in mutually beneficial cooperation with Azerbaijan.
He also provided an overview of China’s achievements in information technologies and expressed Beijing’s readiness to further expand collaboration in the digital sphere.
