Belarusian ambassador praises Karabakh transformations and development

Belarusian Ambassador Dmitry Pinevich has expressed admiration for the large-scale transformations underway in Karabakh, saying that progress in the region becomes increasingly evident with each visit.

Speaking to a Report correspondent in Khankandi, Pinevich said that the scale of infrastructure development is immediately visible upon arrival. He pointed to ongoing projects aimed at strengthening connectivity and energy capacity in the region.

“Arriving at the airport, we observe the construction of connecting highways and the development of energy projects that create the foundation for the implementation of new initiatives,” he noted.

Pinevich also highlighted the recent visit of the diplomatic corps to Karabakh University, describing it as an important opportunity to assess the institution’s rapid development. According to him, the university is expanding its scope in a way that meets broader national needs.

“We saw how the university is expanding its functions, responding to the needs not only of Karabakh but of the whole of Azerbaijan,” the diplomat said.

He added that the developments observed during the visit are of particular interest to Belarus, especially in the context of strengthening bilateral cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of education.

The ambassador further said he was deeply moved by his visit to the Memorial to the Victims of the Khojaly Genocide, emphasising the importance of historical memory.

“The Azerbaijani people carefully preserve their history and, despite its most difficult pages, continue to look confidently to the future,” he said.
