Belarusian speaker: Strengthening regional ties key to global peace and unity
Interaction between regional countries is crucial in strengthening peace and harmony in the face of global challenges, Speaker of the Parliament of Belarus Natalia Kochanova stated at the 15th plenary session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) in Baku.
"We must do our best to ensure that peace and harmony are present in all our countries. Today's meeting confirms the readiness to unite for these goals," Kochanova emphasized, highlighting the role of parliamentarians in fostering stability and well-being, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
She expressed gratitude to Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova and her Azerbaijani colleagues for their fruitful cooperation, noting that the visit of an Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation to Belarus last year gave a new impetus to inter-parliamentary ties.
"We aim at further cooperation within the framework of the existing agreements, which cover all spheres," she added.
Kochanova also voiced confidence in the successful realization of joint initiatives, underscoring the importance of parliamentary diplomacy.
The 15th plenary session of the APA, which began on February 19 in Baku, brings together 280 delegates from 35 countries to discuss pressing global issues.
The APA serves as a key platform for legislative dialogue, enhancing cooperation among Asian parliaments to address regional and international challenges.
