Belgian companies encouraged to invest in Azerbaijani projects

31 October 2025 16:51

Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Economy, Samad Bashirli, met with René Branders, CEO of FIB Belgium, to discuss avenues for deepening economic cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister Bashirli underscored Azerbaijan’s strong commitment to fostering relations with Belgium. He noted that previous meetings, events, and negotiations have played a pivotal role in expanding bilateral economic engagement, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Economy.

The discussion focused on opportunities to enhance cooperation in key sectors, including trade, industry, energy, and transportation. Belgian investors were encouraged to take an active role in ongoing and upcoming projects in Azerbaijan.

Both sides also evaluated the priorities for bilateral economic collaboration, explored mutual investment initiatives, and discussed the potential for organizing export missions to further strengthen commercial ties.

Founded in 1973 through the merger of the Belgian Federation of Industry and the Belgian Federation of Non-Industrial Enterprises, the Federation of Belgian Enterprises now represents over 50,000 companies across more than 40 sectoral federations, serving as a key platform for business engagement in Belgium.
