According to Report, the diplomatic mission of Belgium has stated this while commenting on Azerbaijan's humanist decision to stop the criminal prosecution of Armenian football players who had been detained at the "Lachin" border post.
"The Belgian Embassy in Baku welcomes all initiatives aimed at reducing tension in Garabagh, alleviating the humanitarian situation on the ground and contributing to the creation of an atmosphere of mutual trust. The embassy once again declares its support for the peace process started between Armenia and Azerbaijan", noted the diplomatic mission.
Caliber.Az recalls, that the Armenian footballers detained at the "Lachin" checkpoint had been arrested for committing an insulting act, therefore desecrating the Azerbaijani flag. However, by adopting the principle of humanism, Azerbaijan seized to continue their criminal prosecution.
