Belgium’s FM hopes for swift Armenia–Azerbaijan peace deal

Belgium’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Maxime Prévot, has expressed hope for the swift signing of a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
He made the statement on social media platform X following a phone conversation with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
“I welcome the continued engagement of both Armenia and Azerbaijan in the peace process and express my hope for the prompt signing of a peace agreement,” Prévot wrote.
The sides also discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between Belgium and Armenia, as well as prospects for expanding cooperation between the European Union and Armenia.
In addition, they exchanged views on current developments in the region.
