Bosnia and Herzegovina delegation visits Icherisheher during WUF13 in Baku

Bosnia and Herzegovina’s delegation has visited Icherisheher (Inner City) on the sidelines of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, Azerbaijan, the Administration of the State Historical-Architectural Reserve Icherisheher has stated.

It said the delegation toured several of the Inner City’s key landmarks, including the Maiden Tower, the Sirataghli religious and architectural complex, the Bukhara Caravanserai, and other historic sites, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

The delegation included Staša Košarac, the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations.

The visitors were briefed on the centuries-old urban environment of Icherisheher, ongoing conservation efforts, and restoration projects aimed at preserving and revitalising the area.

Officials also highlighted that Icherisheher today functions not only as a heritage site, but also as a living urban space where historical traditions coexist with modern city life.

Košarac is in Azerbaijan to attend the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13).
