bp completes landmark seismic survey at ACG field ahead of schedule & under budget
The first seismic survey at the Azeri-Chirag Deepwater Gunashli (ACG) field, which commenced in January 2024, has been successfully completed ahead of schedule and below budget.
In a letter to Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov, bp's regional president for Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey Gary Jones announced the successful completion of the first phase of the seismic survey program at the ACG field. This phase utilized cutting-edge four-dimensional (4D) high-precision offshore sensors, marking a significant milestone for the project, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Jones highlighted that this five-year project represents BP's largest seismic data acquisition program ever undertaken globally. The program's primary objective was to obtain detailed insights into the reservoir's architecture and fluid contact dynamics.
The letter also conveyed bp's gratitude to the Azerbaijani government for its continued support of this critical research initiative.
