Canadian expert: Karabakh links with Azerbaijan’s past and future

Canadian expert Sebastien Boussois has described Karabakh as a very symbolic region, closely connected with Azerbaijan's past and future.

"Karabakh is connected with Azerbaijan's past and future. It is very important to know how this region will be restored, namely, the construction of houses, and the return of people here. This is very important because Karabakh is a very symbolic region closely connected with the history, culture, and poetry of Azerbaijan," the expert told Report.

He underlined Azerbaijan's significant efforts to transform Karabakh into a modern model for the entire region.

"Karabakh can become a link between the past and the future to show that Azerbaijan is a leader in the region," the Canadian expert said, noting that the restoration of transport communications would benefit the entire region.

It is very important to restore the territories liberated from Armenian occupation and integrate them into Azerbaijan and then into the region, Boussois said.

The expert noted that Azerbaijan is coping well with this task, restoring roads, building very modern infrastructure, including Fuzuli International Airport, and implementing the "smart cities" project.
