Canadian PM: Ottawa welcomes progress in peace process between Baku, Yerevan
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has stated that Ottawa welcomes the progress made in the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
During his address at the European Political Community summit in Yerevan, Carney said he joins those who note the progress achieved in the peace process between the two countries and welcomes the participation of President Ilham Aliyev, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
Carney also stressed the importance of Canada’s participation in the European Political Community format and thanked the President of the European Council, António Costa, for the invitation to attend the summit in Yerevan.
The leaders of almost 50 countries – including the European Union's 27 nations and partners – gathered to discuss economic and energy security at the eighth European Political Community summit.
The war in Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East constitute the top of the agenda.
