CEC: Over 1,000 hopefuls keen to join parliamentary race in Azerbaijan

Over 1,048 people have applied as candidates to participate in the snap parliamentary elections to be held in Azerbaijan on September 1.

Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panahov said this at a meeting of the commission today, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

According to him, the applications of 700 of them have already been approved.

Panahov also noted that web cameras have been installed at 1,000 polling stations to guarantee the transparency of all processes.
