Chairman: Azerbaijan and Georgia take inter-parliamentary ties to next level

11 April 2025 18:04

In the framework of inter-parliamentary cooperation, Azerbaijan and Georgia are set to transition to a new phase in the activities of their friendship groups.

This was revealed to local media by Irakli Kadagishvili, the Chairman of the Committee on Self-Government and Regional Policy in the Georgian Parliament, Caliber.Az reports.

He explained that regular bilateral meetings are held between the friendship groups of both countries. A separate meeting is scheduled soon, which will mark the first time that the relevant committees from both parliaments will participate. The session will focus on the exchange of experience and discussions on common issues.

Kadagishvili emphasised that this format is crucial for strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation and fostering legislative dialogue.

He also recalled the recent visit of the Chairman of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis (parliament), Sahiba Gafarova, to Georgia, highlighting that these ongoing contacts reflect the high level of interaction between the two nations.

"Our cooperation continues in the spirit of strategic partnership, serving the political, economic, and social interests of both countries," he concluded.
