Chairman: Azerbaijan can become active participant in int'l creative economy
Azerbaijan is positioning itself to become an active player in the international creative economy by supporting creative entrepreneurship, said Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) under the Ministry of Economy.
Speaking at the "Creative Azerbaijan" event in Baku, Mammadov highlighted the country's commitment to the growth of the creative economy as a vital component of its long-term development strategy, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
"The development of the creative economy, its integration into other sectors, and the implementation of innovative business models are integral parts of Azerbaijan's sustainable development strategy," he explained.
The event, organized by the Ministry of Culture, is a key platform for engaging in discussions about the growth of the creative industry, covering areas such as cinema, design, and the gaming sector.
Mammadov emphasized the importance of such platforms in fostering collaboration and driving forward the creative sector.
He also underscored KOBIA's active role in supporting creative entrepreneurs through a variety of initiatives.
"KOBIA applies a number of significant support mechanisms for entrepreneurs in the creative and cultural sectors, including cinema, design, the gaming industry, and other areas," Mammadov stated.
Mammadov further outlined KOBIA's comprehensive support framework: "We provide grant funding for projects aimed at developing creative entrepreneurship. The funding for each project is set at 20,000 manats ($11,764), training services in business management, digital marketing, and expanding access to global markets are organized, and entrepreneurs receive consulting services in the fields of legal and administrative regulation."
