Charge d'Affaires: China, Azerbaijan eye to back each other's vital interests

Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of China in Azerbaijan Ding Tao has said that cooperation between Azerbaijan and China remained robust since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Tao made these remarks during a press conference dedicated to the results of the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO member states, Caliber.Az reports citing the local media.

“We greatly value the progress in bilateral relations. At the summit in Astana, the heads of state discussed cooperation across various sectors. This reaffirms that China and Azerbaijan are prepared to uphold each other’s crucial interests,” he said.

"Chinese leader Xi Jinping emphasized that the Strategic Partnership Declaration signed in Astana marks a new beginning in bilateral relations," noted Tao.

He added that China is prepared to elevate relations with Azerbaijan to a more substantial level for the mutual benefit of our nations and peoples.

Tao highlighted that historically, the Silk Road has connected Azerbaijan and China.

“Humanitarian cooperation between the two countries is progressing well. There are frequent people-to-people contacts, with five weekly flights to Beijing. The Azerbaijani government provides favourable conditions for Chinese citizens entering the country,” he said.

Tao emphasised that collaboration in the education sector is growing.

“The study of Chinese language and culture is gaining popularity in Azerbaijan. Recently, the leadership of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences visited China,” he noted.

He also underscored the significance of regional cooperation between China and Azerbaijan.

The relations between Azerbaijan and China are characterized by strategic partnership and cooperation across various fields. Since establishing diplomatic ties, the two countries have strengthened economic, political, and cultural exchanges, fostering mutual understanding and collaboration.

Overall, Azerbaijan-China relations continue to strengthen through ongoing dialogue, cooperation agreements, and mutual support in regional and international forums.
