Chief of Azerbaijani Army observes joint military exercises in Kazakhstan
Colonel-General Kerim Veliyev, the First Deputy Minister of Defence and Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijani Army began his visit to Kazakhstan on August 23.
During his visit, Kerim Veliyev will observe the tactical exercises of the joint military exercise "Altyn Kyran-2024" ("Golden Eagle-2024"), which includes participation from Azerbaijani army servicemen, Azerbaijani Defence Ministry told Caliber.Az.
Additionally, he will discuss future cooperation opportunities between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan in the fields of military affairs, military-technical development, and military education.
The "Golden Eagle-2024" exercises, conducted at the "Koktal" training ground in Zharkent, Almaty region, are part of a bilateral plan signed between the Defence Ministries of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.
These drills, which will run until August 24, are designed to strengthen military cooperation and enhance operational skills between the two nations' forces.
The exercises focus on tactical operations, including reconnaissance in mountainous terrain, and the detection and neutralization of illegal armed formations.
Azerbaijani soldiers will share their combat experience from the Second Karabakh War and other successful military operations with their Kazakh counterparts.
