China, Azerbaijan seek stronger cultural ties, dialogue among civilisations
China is ready to work with Azerbaijan to promote dialogue among civilisations and strengthen people-to-people exchanges, Chinese Ambassador Lu Mei said in Baku.
The ambassador made the remarks at the Azerbaijani premiere of the documentary The Guardian of Heritage, produced by China Media Group and dubbed into Azerbaijani, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
“The Chinese side is ready to work with Azerbaijan to develop dialogue among civilisations and strengthen people-to-people exchanges,” Lu Mei said.
She noted that humanitarian cooperation between the two countries in culture, education, media, tourism, science and technology, as well as youth exchanges, has continued to expand.
“In recent years, China-Azerbaijan relations have been developing comprehensively, have entered a new phase, and have reached the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership,” she said.
Lu Mei said high-level visits between the two countries were increasing, while political trust and bilateral ties were strengthening. She also highlighted cooperation under China’s Belt and Road Initiative and said bilateral trade had repeatedly reached record levels.
The ambassador described the Azerbaijani dubbing of The Guardian of Heritage as a new step in media cooperation between the two countries, saying it would help Azerbaijani audiences learn more about China’s cultural heritage.
