Congress Committee’s rep: New Caledonia expresses gratitude to Azerbaijan
Chair of the New Caledonian Congress Committee on Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Sustainable Development, Energy, Transport and Communications Naisseline Omayra has said that New Caledonian freedom fighters are demanding a new independence referendum.
Omayra made these remarks at a conference in the Azerbaijani parliament dedicated to “History, modern challenges and the expected future” in Baku, Report informs.
She noted that a complaint had been filed to review the referendum that deprived the Kanak people of their rights.
Omayra has said that the memorandum of cooperation between the Azerbaijani parliament and the Congress of New Caledonia is historical.
“The document includes political support and expands the boundaries of bilateral cooperation. We express our gratitude to Azerbaijan for supporting our struggle for independence,” she added.
A conference on “History, modern challenges and expected future” is being held in the Azerbaijani parliament.
Chairman of the Azerbaijani parliamentary Human Rights Committee Zahid Oruj, Chair of the New Caledonian Congress Committee on Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Sustainable Development, Energy, Transport and Communications Naisseline Omayra and Azerbaijani MPs are taking part in the conference.
