Consul general hails Azerbaijan’s, Türkiye’s triumphs in Karabakh, Çanakkale battles
Türkiye and Azerbaijan are united by a shared commitment to their roots and the defence of their lands, the Turkish Consul General in Nakhchivan, Asip Kaya, said during a ceremony marking the 111th anniversary of the Battle of Çanakkale.
“Türkiye and Azerbaijan are countries that value their roots and defend their lands. Thanks to this approach, Türkiye achieved a major victory in the Battle of Çanakkale during the National Liberation War, and Azerbaijan — in Karabakh,” he said, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Describing the battle as “one of the most significant events in world history,” Kaya stressed the importance of remembering the heroism of those who fought.
“We must pass on the heroism of the Çanakkale martyrs to future generations. That is why we place great importance on events like this,” he said.
Kaya drew a parallel between Türkiye’s historic victories and Azerbaijan’s recent achievements.
“Peoples who value their roots and defend their lands always achieve success. Türkiye and Azerbaijan are a clear example of this. In Çanakkale, in the National Liberation War, and in Karabakh, we achieved great victories. Türkiye and Azerbaijan will always stand by each other,” he added.
