COP29 holds great importance in informing sectors about their climate change commitments UN Resident Coordinator says

During the second day of the GSMA Mobile 360 Eurasia 2024 conference in Baku, Vladanka Andreeva, the UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan, highlighted the significance of the upcoming 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Baku.

According to Report, Andreeva emphasized that COP29 holds great importance in informing various sectors about their climate change commitments.

She highlighted the high expectations from COP29, stating that it serves as a crucial platform for global collaboration. This includes discussions on financial targets for the 195 countries participating in the climate conference and the adoption of reports assessing the progress in reducing emissions.

Andreeva underscored the urgent need to address the shortfall in meeting carbon reduction commitments, emphasizing that this issue requires thorough discussion and action.
