COP29 to bolster Azerbaijan's diplomatic & economic relations - Belgian ambassador

The 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) will boost political relations between Azerbaijan and all participating countries in the fight against climate change, stated Belgian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Michel Petersmans in an interview with Report.

The ambassador highlighted that hosting such a significant event would be a pivotal moment for Azerbaijani diplomacy. "It will also give an opportunity for Azerbaijan to make itself known to international companies, which will certainly be widely represented in Baku," Petersmans said.

He further emphasized, "In this sense, the Conference of Parties will not only be a step towards achieving climate goals but also a showcase for Azerbaijan, which is involved in the process of reducing dependence on fossil fuels and diversifying the structure of its economy."
