Croatian Parliament speaker honours Heydar Aliyev, fallen Azerbaijani heroes in Baku PHOTO

A Croatian parliamentary delegation led by Speaker Gordan Jandroković paid tribute to Azerbaijan’s National Leader Heydar Aliyev during a visit to Baku.

Jandroković and accompanying lawmakers laid a wreath at Aliyev’s tomb in the Alley of Honour, honouring the founder of modern independent Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports, citing domestic media.

The delegation also visited the Alley of Martyrs, where they commemorated Azerbaijani servicemen who died for the nation’s independence and territorial integrity, laying flowers on their graves and placing a wreath at the Eternal Flame monument.

The Croatian officials were later briefed on the history of the Alley of Martyrs and the redevelopment of Baku while taking in a panoramic view of the city.
