Culture Foundation: Azerbaijan becomes regional power after second Karabakh war
Head of the US-Azerbaijan Culture Foundation Nurit Greenger has said that Azerbaijan, having won the 44-day second Karabakh war, has become a regional power.
Greenger made the remarks at a press conference in Baku, Report informs.
“There are still challenges in the region. However, the most important thing is the liberation of the lands from occupation,” she added.
She noted that the centre which she has created is designed to bring Azerbaijani culture to the US people.
“I would like to show real Azerbaijan in the US. Knowing the role of the Armenian lobby, we want to dispel negative stereotypes and tell the truth about this country,” the head of the US-Azerbaijan Culture Foundation said.
"I would like to prove that the US needs Azerbaijan in geopolitical terms," the head of the centre added.
“This process takes time,” she said.
While speaking about the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Israel, Greenger noted that the countries have very warm relations.
She spoke about veteran of the second Karabakh War, Arif Hajiyev, who needed a donor and eye surgery.
The donor was found in Israel, and the operation will be conducted by Israeli doctors. The veteran will travel to Israel to meet with the donor and doctors on December 18.
She noted that a film about this veteran is planned to be shot in the future through the support of the Azerbaijani State Committee for Work with the Diaspora.
Another film will be made about Azerbaijan’s cultural heritage.
