D-8 unveils media cooperation strategy at Azerbaijan's Shusha forum

The strategy of the D-8 Organisation for Economic Cooperation's Media Centre of Excellence was unveiled on Monday (July 13) during the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum, outlining plans to deepen media cooperation among the group's member states.

Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, joined D-8 Secretary-General Sohaib Mahmood and senior media representatives at the presentation in Shusha, Caliber.Az reports per local media.

According to the strategy, the centre will focus on strengthening collaboration between media organisations across D-8 countries, enhancing professional capacity, promoting research and innovation, and tackling disinformation.

Future plans include establishing a network of media organisations from member states, launching joint projects, expanding partnerships with international organisations, and encouraging the exchange of best practices.

The centre also plans to hold annual consultative council meetings to review action plans, assess progress and set priorities for future cooperation.
