Daily Turkic: Azerbaijan emerges as critical bridge of Eurasia
With Iran at war and regional airspace shutting down, global flights are rerouting through Azerbaijan, Daily Turkic wrote on X commenting on escalating hostilities and the closure of parts of regional airspace.

Travel chaos has erupted across Western Europe and the Middle East after the US and Israel launched strikes on Iran, prompting major airspace closures in Iran and Iraq.
Dubai International Airport, the world’s busiest hub, has suspended flights, affecting Emirates and other carriers. Emirates confirmed temporary suspension of all operations to and from Dubai, citing passenger safety.
Abu Dhabi and Doha airports have also closed, with Etihad and Qatar Airways halting flights until at least Sunday.
British Airways and Virgin Atlantic have cancelled multiple flights linking London to Middle Eastern destinations, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Amman, Bahrain, Tel Aviv, and Riyadh, with free rebooking options offered. Passengers on affected flights have faced mid-boarding cancellations and diversions.
