Deputy FM: Azerbaijan intends to host UN Global Forum in 2027

Azerbaijan intends to host the Global Forum of the UN Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) in 2027, Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev said during the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. 

He made the announcement on the fifth day of the session while speaking at a high-level meeting of the Friends Group of the UN Alliance of Civilizations.Rafiyev highlighted Azerbaijan’s leading role in the Baku Process and the World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue during the meeting, Caliber.Az reports.

At a joint ministerial meeting of Arab and Islamic countries on Jerusalem, the deputy foreign minister reiterated Azerbaijan’s firm support for a two-state solution under which Al-Quds Al-Sharif would be the capital of the State of Palestine, in accordance with international law and relevant UN resolutions.

Rafiyev also held bilateral meetings with Guinea-Bissau Foreign Minister Fatumata Jau and Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Lasha Darsalia, during which the sides exchanged views on cooperation within international organizations.
