Deputy PM: Iran accounts for over 95% of drugs smuggled into Azerbaijan PHOTO

Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the State Commission on Combating Drug Abuse Ali Ahmadov has said that about 95 per cent of drugs of foreign origin were smuggled into Azerbaijan from Iran over ten months of 2022.
Ahmadov made the remarks at a meeting in the Cabinet of Ministers, Report informs.
He went on saying that the country's favorable geographic location between East and West is the main reason for drug smuggling.
The statistical indicators on cities and districts with the biggest number of registered drug users were analysed at the meeting. The importance of continuing the systematic work of the media to prevent drug trafficking through enlightenment was brought to the attention of the event participants.
