EC chief engages in talks on COP29, demining with Azerbaijani ministers PHOTO

European Commission Director General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations, Gert Jan Koopman, engaged in discussions regarding COP29 and mine clearance with Azerbaijani Environment and Transport Ministers.

During the meeting, Koopman met with Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev, as well as Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources and President of COP29, Mukhtar Babayev.

According to Caliber.Az, Koopman took to his social media page to share insights from the discussions, stating, "Discussed green energy, connectivity, demining, and COP29 with the ministers of Economy, Ecology, and Transport of Azerbaijan. Emphasized the significance of close cooperation in advancing EU-Azerbaijan priorities."

The discussions also touched upon the peace process and human rights, which are vital for fostering a conducive business environment.

Earlier in the day, Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov explored potential partnerships with the EU at COP29 in discussions with Geert Jan Koopman.
