Ecuadorian MP highly appreciates Azerbaijan’s role in NAM
Ecuadorian MP Pamela Aguirre has highly appreciated the policy which is pursued by Azerbaijan in the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).
Aguirre noted Azerbaijan’s role in NAM, according to Report.
“I would like to stress Azerbaijan’s huge role in NAM. I am impressed by the policy, which is pursued by Azerbaijan in this organisation. It can become exemplary for others because today, thanks to this country, we have come together and are discussing important issues to find possible solutions,” the MP noted.
“This conference is extremely important. Countries see the world only from one side. For example, I am from Latin America, from the south, but we always look towards the north, towards the EU, and the US. But the world is much wider than these countries. It consists of different cultures and political visions. When we are together, we talk about problems in our countries, and sometimes they coincide. Although the solutions to these problems for one country, sometimes, are not suitable for other countries,” the MP noted.
As an example, she cited the issue of climate change in Ecuador.
The MP noted that agriculture is well developed in Ecuador, but the situation here is not rather favorable due to the lack of rainfall.
“To solve this problem, we should have a dialogue with more developed and wealthy countries for these countries to help us because this is a global problem, rather than a problem of individual countries,” she said.
She added that platforms like the NAM parliamentary network create opportunities to discuss problems and find solutions.
