Egypt & Azerbaijan forge ahead with bilateral cooperation
Relations between Egypt and Azerbaijan are set to strengthen and flourish, according to Egyptian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Hisham Mohamed Nagy Abdel Hamid.
Speaking at an official reception dedicated to Egypt's national holiday, the ambassador highlighted the ongoing and future collaborative efforts between the two nations, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Ambassador Abdel Hamid announced that the next meeting of the joint commission on economic, technical, and scientific cooperation between Azerbaijan and Egypt will be held soon. This meeting is expected to further develop economic and trade relations between Baku and Cairo.
"In early 2023, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi visited Baku, and in June this year, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev visited Egypt," said Abdel Hamid.
"These two visits were an important milestone in the development of our bilateral relations and will make a great contribution to the development of Egyptian-Azerbaijani relations. The two presidents expressed interest in discussing cooperation opportunities in many fields such as construction, transport, pharmaceuticals, energy, and infrastructure. It was decided to hold the next meeting of the joint commission on economic, technical, and scientific cooperation as soon as possible to promote our economic and trade relations."
The Egyptian diplomat also congratulated Azerbaijan on hosting the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in November this year, as well as the World Urban Forum (WUF) in 2026.
