Egypt calls attack on Azerbaijan unacceptable
Egypt has described the recent attack on Azerbaijan as unacceptable and stressed the importance of prioritising dialogue and diplomacy to stabilise the situation in the Middle East.
According to AZERTAC, citing Egypt’s State Information Service, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty made the statement during a telephone conversation with the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas.
During the call, the minister said Egypt firmly rejects and considers unacceptable attacks on the Gulf states, as well as on Jordan, Iraq, Türkiye and Azerbaijan, emphasising that such actions must be condemned.
Abdelatty also warned that the continuation of violence and further expansion of the conflict could lead to catastrophic and dangerous consequences that may threaten regional and international peace and stability.
