Embassy: Finland to accept applications from Russians for humanitarian visas

Visa Application Centres in Finland will accept applications from Russians for humanitarian visas.

“The acceptance of visa applications will be greatly limited. The principled decision [to close the borders for Russian tourists] does not prevent trips necessary for humanitarian reasons to ensure national interest or fulfill international obligations,” TASS reports on September 29 with reference to the Finnish embassy in Moscow.

The embassy also added that the decision to close the border is aimed at completely preventing tourism and related transit trips.
