Embassy: US Azerbaijan's partner in Caspian Sea border, maritime security

The US embassy in Baku has said that the United States is Azerbaijan's partner in border and maritime security in the Caspian Sea.

"The United States is Azerbaijan's partner in border and maritime security in the Caspian Sea," Report informs, citing a statement from the embassy.

The statement adds that Charge d’Affaires Hugo Guevara met US State Department official Jacqueline Kellon, who paid a visit to Azerbaijan.

"Kellon is the director of the Export Controls and Related Border Security (EXBS) Program in the State Department's Office of Export Control and Cooperation for International Security and Nuclear Nonproliferation. The United States is Azerbaijan's partner in border and maritime security in the Caspian Sea. We continue to support Azerbaijan's capabilities to prevent the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and drug smuggling," the statement reads.
