Emirates to resume flights to Iran
The UAE’s airline Emirates will resume flights to Iran from October 31.
"Emirates will resume flights to/from Tehran from October 31, 2024," the airline said, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
The airline had suspended Dubai-Tehran flights after Iran launched a massive missile strike against Israel on October 1. Due to the tension in the region, Emirates had repeatedly extended its ban on flights to the Islamic Republic.
The airline's management has extended the suspension of flights to/from Beirut until November 30, inclusive.
Flights to Baghdad have been canceled until November 14. However, Flydubai airline, based in Dubai, continues making flights to the Iraqi capital.
On October 26, Israel conducted direct strikes on Iran in a significant response to Tehran's ballistic missile attack earlier this month. According to an Israeli military source, the strikes targeted military installations but did not impact energy infrastructure.
The attack resulted in the deaths of four members of Iran’s military, prompting Tehran to assert its right to defend itself. However, Iran seemed to downplay the overall impact of the strikes, stating that the damage at military sites was minimal.
