Envoy: Azerbaijan–Türkiye set priorities on tech, AI, finance collaboration
Digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and financial technologies have been identified as priority areas for expanding economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, Turkish ambassador to Azerbaijan, Birol Akgün, stated.
During his speech at the "Azerbaijan–Türkiye Business Forum: Digital Transformation and Technology Bridge", he noted that the 12th meeting of the Türkiye-Azerbaijan Joint Economic Commission had produced a 110-point action plan, scheduled for implementation in 2026, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
“The document places special emphasis on cooperation in digitalisation, innovation, artificial intelligence, fintech, and high technologies. The goal is to raise trade turnover between the two countries to $15 billion. Achieving this requires expanding joint activity in high-value-added technology sectors alongside traditional industries. A strong foundation in energy, construction, agriculture, and other fields must now be complemented by technological transformation,” the ambassador said.
Akgün added that the partnership model goes beyond bilateral relations and lays the groundwork for broader economic integration across the South Caucasus and Caspian region.
