Envoy: Azerbaijan-UAE trade surpasses $2 billion in 2024

Trade between Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) exceeded $2.2 billion last year, reflecting strengthening economic ties, the UAE ambassador to Azerbaijan has said.

Mohammed Al Bloushi made the remarks during a reception in Baku marking the UAE’s National Day, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

“Regarding air transport between our countries, UAE carriers operate around 28 direct weekly flights, while Azerbaijani airlines offer 14 per week,” he said.

“In 2024, tourist numbers reached 48,888 from the UAE and 115,189 from Azerbaijan, which highlights growing people-to-people connections alongside trade.”

The ambassador described these figures as a positive indicator of the expanding partnership between Baku and Abu Dhabi, encompassing both commerce and tourism.
