Envoy: Azerbaijani President, First Lady greatly support Türkiye after earthquake

Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Cahit Bagci has said that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva greatly supported Türkiye after the February 6 earthquake.

Bagci made these remarks at the Agro Business Forum Azerbaijan–2023, Report informs.

“The entire Azerbaijani people greatly supported Türkiye and demonstrated unity. I express my gratitude for this support,” the ambassador noted.

The ambassador added that the “Karabakh Agriculture and Forestry Plan” signed between Azerbaijan and Türkiye in June 2021 was prepared with Türkiye.

“This plan includes numerous training and the implementation of projects to support agriculture, forestry, water management and other spheres, not only in Karabakh, but throughout Azerbaijan,” he said.

“More than 40 mutual visits have been organised over the past year. I hope that the resources of Karabakh and entire Azerbaijan will be used and will strengthen the Azerbaijani economy,” he said.

Bagci also added that 55 Turkish companies are participating in the forum.

Meanwhile, the military medical personnel of the Azerbaijani Army sent to Türkiye in accordance with instructions of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev have completed their activity in Kahramanmaras and returned home.

Azerbaijani military doctors, in interaction with the representatives of the Turkish Ministry of Health and the Turkish Armed Forces, rendered medical aid to the injured as a result of the earthquake in the fraternal country, the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry told Caliber.Az.

A total of 81 surgeries were performed by the Azerbaijani medical staff in the fraternal country, and 517 people received outpatient care.

The activity of the 20 member military medical personnel of the Azerbaijani Army, including general surgeon, traumatologist, otolaryngologist, ophthalmologist, neurosurgeon, rheumatologist, anesthesiologist, plastic-reconstructive surgeon, medical attendant, operating nurses and anesthetists, was highly appreciated in Türkiye.
