Envoy: Cholpon-Ata summit united Azerbaijan, Central Asian countries

Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to the United States Khazar Ibrahim has said that the summit held in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, in late July brought Azerbaijan and the Central Asian countries closer together.

According to local media, citing the Caspian Policy Centre, Ibrahim made the remarks during a roundtable titled “From Dialogue to Delivery: The Cholpon-Ata Summit and Next Steps for Trans-Caspian Cooperation.” The discussion focused on the outcomes of the summit and prospects for further regional cooperation.

“The message from Cholpon-Ata is that we have finally become a single whole. We are all together,” Khazar Ibrahim said.

Highlighting the significance of Azerbaijan’s participation, the ambassador said it helps establish a connection between the eastern and western shores of the Caspian Sea.

“Now, with Azerbaijan's participation, the Caspian Sea connects both its eastern and western shores… This will bring not only new opportunities but also practical results,” the ambassador added.

An informal meeting of the heads of state of Azerbaijan and the Central Asian countries was held in the Kyrgyz city of Cholpon-Ata on July 31.
